Product Description

Description:

Nitotile GPX cementitious powder is available in a grey color.

Uses:

Nitotile GPX is a high-quality adhesive for the permanent fixing of ceramic and vitrified tiles for both internal & external application of tiles for wet area, dry area & submerged conditions. It can also be used for fixing insulating and acoustic boards based on expanded polystyrene etc. Typical uses include:

  • Wet areas - kitchens and bathrooms
  • Tile claddings
  • Swimming pools
  • Fixing of ceramic and vitrified tiles for floor & wall (both internal & external application)

Advantages:

  • Tropical grade to suit Indian working conditions
  • Good open wet time
  • Good slip resistance
  • High adhesion strength
  • Waterproof
  • Good slip resistance
  • Can be used in totally submerged conditions

Surfaces:

Nitotile GPX can be applied directly to concrete, cement screeds, and cement or lime mortar. Special attention must be given to new construction prior to commencing tiling. Tiles should not be placed on concrete or brickwork until all shrinkage movement has taken place.

To use Nitotile GPX on gypsum or gypsum board substrates, diluted Nitobond AR (1 : 3 with water) should be applied to the surface of the gypsum or gypsum board prior to application of Nitotile GPX.

Mixing:

Nitotile GPX should be mixed with clean potable water in the ratio 4:1 by weight (4 part powder: 1 part water). A slow speed drill fitted with a mixing paddle is recommended for mixing. Add powder to water and mix until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved. The total quantity of water may be slightly adjusted to achieve the required consistency.

Application:

Nitotile GPX should be spread on the substrate to a uniform thickness of 2-3mm, and then combed horizontally with a serrated trowel.

Place tiles firmly into an adhesive bed, ensuring good contact with a twisting motion. Only apply to areas which can be tiled in the adhesive’s open wet time (up to 1m2 at a time).

Coverage: Approx. 3.8 kg/m2 at 2 mm thickness

Shelf life:

Nitotile GPX has a shelf life of 12 months if kept in a dry store in the original, unopened bags.

Storage conditions:

Store in dry conditions in the original, unopened bags or packs. If stored at high temperature and/or high humidity conditions the shelf life may be reduced.
